My beloved home state of Colorado has been burning for several weeks now. The mountains near Fort Collins, Boulder and Colorado Springs have been torched, destroying hundreds of homes and causing over 32,000 people to evacuate. The threat of the Waldo Canyon fire in Colorado Springs is so grave that the efforts to control it have been compared to that of a combat operation. President Obama is scheduled to tour the devastation tomorrow. I helplessly watch the news stories from the safety of a neighboring state while thousands of people are forced to decide which belongings to take with them as they flee their homes.
The images are heart wrenching.
Please pray for rain throughout the state of Colorado and for the men and women risking their lives to fight this firestorm.
