The hubbin and I went on a recent outing to explore our local museum. It was surprisingly interesting to learn about history of the Rock.
We saw a coal miners' $.18 paycheck in 1930...
and walked through the Rock Springs jail which was still in use until the 1980's.
The isolation cell was pri-tty creepy. A woman told me the walls were padded to prevent injuries of the mentally ill who were placed in solitary confinement.
What a bummer.
We examined old fire extinguishers...
and dentist's chairs. Praise the Lord for modern medicine!
We got a pretty good laugh out of this sign...
and ended our tour riveting like Rosie.
So there it is. The history of the Rock in 11 pictures.
Woop!
