6 months

13lbs 12.5oz, 27 in
Oh sweet heavens, where does the time go? Liv is now closer to seven months than she is to six and I'm just getting around to writing this post. This girl is a mover and a shaker and keeping us very busy.

Liv's fifth month of life had it's share of rough moments. She got her first illnesses, a severe diaper rash which lasted almost two weeks, and cut two teeth– all in the span of a few weeks. It broke my mama heart to watch her in pain and it exhausted our entire household since no one was sleeping well.

On the flip side, she started on her first solid foods which has been a lot of fun and super messy!  Her current favorites include: avocado, banana, sweet potato, apples, pears, strawberries, zucchini, and CHICKEN (seriously, she devours it and screams if you try to take it away from her). We have been following the Baby Led Weaning philosophy and exposing her to lots of different healthy foods. Just like her mama, Liv loves to eat!

Her babbling has increased a lot in the last month. She now "talks" constantly while she plays with her toys or splashes in the bathtub. She is interacting with us in fun ways– my favorite is how she plays hide-and-seek with papa while she nurses.

She is still army crawling and making strides towards the real thing daily. Although I can tell she really just wants to stand up and walk. She is constantly trying to pull up on our bodies to get into a standing position and when she is successful, she bounces up and down with a smile on her face, so proud of herself.

Her Johnny Jump Up is still her favorite toy– it's a Godsend for me because it's the only thing she'll tolerate for more than a few minutes while I take a shower or make dinner. She also loves public places and prefers being out and about to being stuck at home in the same environment with the same toys, day after day.

Liv is getting more and more comfortable around other people which makes me really happy. As much as I love being her number one, it's important to me that she's able to be content with other people too. It's a tad overwhelming to be the only one who can put her to sleep or comfort her when she's cranky.

This season in our world is changing so quickly, and although it is not without its challenges, I want to savor every moment of this sweet life.
