My six nieces and nephews mean the world to me. It has been so hard being apart from them because I feel like I'm missing out on so much of their lives. As I get older, it becomes increasingly apparent just how quickly time passes and I want to make sure they know how much I love them.
Caleb is the first born and belongs to my sister and her husband. At 4 years old, he is (so!) intelligent and spirited. His vocabulary has always been much bigger than his little body so some of the funniest things end up coming out of his mouth. He loves to sing and can memorize the lyrics to any Veggie Tales (or Backyardigans, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, etc.) song in mere minutes! I'm convinced he will be a world leader one day.
Next is Brody. My brother and sister-in-law get to claim this 3 year old. He has always been a sensitive soul and has such a big heart. He is gentle and sweet, kind and considerate. He ranks top five on Keane's all time favorite people list. And that says a lot!
Oh yeah, and his voice? It breaks my heart into tiny little pieces.
Then comes sweet Corynn, younger sister to Caleb. Although she is not quite 2, she is physical and active and so outgoing. She runs like a little tank and fears very little. She flirts with anyone and everyone and has the most contagious belly laugh. I have developed quite the bond with this one. She has recently started calling me "Aunt Key" and my sister says she asks about me frequently.
Again, heart broken into teeny tiny pieces.
Fourth is Sofia, second child for my brother and his wife. She is a perfect blend of both of them- what a beautiful little girl! She is fairly reserved and observant as she is only a year, but I can already tell she won't be taking any flak from her older brother. She is almost walking and I can't wait to see who this little beauty becomes as her personality blossoms.
Then we switch sides of the family for little Lily. She is Keane's sister's baby bundle. She came to our family as quite a surprise but her existence on this earth was clearly no mistake. At five months, she likes being held facing out so she can see the action. We are told that she has many of the same characteristics as her Uncle Keane when he was a baby. She likes movement- bouncing, swaying, rocking. And she certainly looks like him! Her smile lights up any room.
Finally, baby Cavan completed my sister's family, growing them from 4 to a family of 5. He is only 8 weeks but already my sister tells me he is so calm and easy going. He is one of the most handsome little babies I've ever seen. I can't wait to get back to Colorado so I can witness him grow.
This little video was made with love and set to one of my favorite songs. It includes snippets of each of these six sweetie pies who call us auntie and uncle.
I love you all!
I love you all!
You are an amazing Auntie and Uncle! I wish you could have seen the pride in the kids' faces when I read your words about them. They want to call and tell you thanks and they love you!
